Poker is a card game where you compete against the players at your table to win money. To begin the hand, all players put in a small amount of money (the ante) to get dealt two cards. Then there is a round of betting, usually initiated by 2 mandatory bets called blinds placed into the pot by the players to the left of the dealer. A fourth card is then dealt face up, this is called the turn. The highest poker hand wins the pot.
Often, the best hands are made up of four of a kind or higher, like a straight flush or 4 aces. The highest hand in poker is the royal flush, consisting of a 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace of the same suit, in order, and it cannot be tied or beaten by any other four of a kind.
